Cong to stay away from audio-visual presentation in Tel House

Congress in Telangana today said it will not attend the audio-visual presentation on irrigation projects to be made in the Legislative Assembly tomorrow by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao as it would be "against standard Parliamentary practices". "We would not be able to attend if the audio-visual presentation is held in the Assembly because it is against the standard and traditional parliamentary practices followed in Parliament or any Assembly in India," Congress Legislature Party (CLP) members said in a letter to Speaker S Madhusudanachary. They said there is no precedent in Parliament or any Assembly in the country wherein a debate is initiated on the basis of the audio-visual presentation. "This is unhealthy precedent because if all the members wish to speak only through audio-visual presentation on any subject in the house, it would be against present Parliamentary practices. "If the Chief Minister wishes to make a audio-visual presentation, we request him to do the same either in Committee Hall in the Assembly or in the Secretariat or elsewhere," they said.
