TMC seems to retain power in WB, AIADMK in TN, Cong wins 1st seat in Pondy, BJP leads in Assam and LDF in Kerala

The trends available in the Assembly polls in five states show that TMC seems to retain power in West Bengal and AIADMK in Tamil Nadu. BJP allies seem to wrest power from Congress in Assam and LDF in Kerala. In Puducherry, Congress and DMK are well ahead of AINRC. The trends indicate that TMC is leading in 189 constituencies in West Bengal, Left Front and Congress in 79 and BJP in 2. Others are leading in 3. Trends also show that the opposition is doing well in North Bengal districts while Trinamool Congress is far ahead of opposition in South Bengal districts. in Kolkata too Trinamool Congress candidates including Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee are forging ahead against their rivals. In Kerala, LDF is leading in 79 constituencies, UDF in 49 and BJP allies in 2. Others are leading in one. Of the prominent candidates leading are Oommen Chandy, Achuthanandan, Pinari Vijayan and Ramesh Chennithala. Cricketer Sreesanh and P.V.Jagdish Kumar are trailing. In Assam, BJP and its allies are leading in 73 constituencies, Congress in 25 and AIUDF in 16. BJP Chief Ministerial candidate Sarbananda Sonowal is leading in Majuli, whereas Asom Gana Parishad President Atul Bora is leading in Bokakhat. AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal is trailing behind Congress' Wazed Ali Choudhary in Salmara South. In Tamil Nadu, AIADMK is leading in 124 constituencies and DMK allies in 82. In Puducherry, Congress allies are leading in 7 constituencies and NRC in 8.
