Hurriyat screens documentary on children

Moderate Hurriyat Conference today screened a documentary titled 'Children in conflict-torn Kashmir' at the amalgam's headquarters here, claiming it will also be screened at the ongoing session of United Nations Human Rights Council at Geneva. "We will screen this documentary at the 31st session of UNHRC at Geneva to highlight the ill effects of Jammu and Kashmir dispute on the children here," a spokesman of the Hurriyat said after the screening here. The documentary was scheduled to be screened yesterday at a local hotel but the authorities refused the permission to do so. "The government did not allow the scheduled screening yesterday. "It shows the high handedness and undemocratic attitude of the government and curbs on freedom of expression," the spokesman said. Mirwaiz had also announced that they would also distribute the documentary among foreign missions and upload the movie on social media as well, as Hurriyat is also planning to screen the movie in several countries around the world for highlighting the "plight of children in Kashmir".
