Hyd HC to hear petition on encounter death of eight Maoists
The Hyderabad High Court today asked Telangana government to preserve the bodies of the eight Maoists who were killed by the police in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh yesterday as a human rights organisation has moved the court alleging that the encounter was fake.
Advocate V Raghunath, the lawyer of Telangana Civil Liberties Committee, orally mentioned the matter before a division bench headed by Chief Justice D B Bhosale and sought an order to the state to file a report.
The bench asked him to file a proper petition, scheduling a hearing tomorrow.
It also asked the state government to preserve the bodies.
Eight Maoists, five of them women, were killed in an encounter with Greyhounds, the anti-Naxal force of Telangana police, in a forest in Sukma district yesterday. The area is close to Telangana's Khammam district.
