Syrian student arrested for assault

A 24-year-old Syrian national was today arrested for allegedly assaulting a TV journalist and her husband at the RTC Cross Roads here. Police said that S Abdul M, a Syrian student, allegedly assaulted the couple after an altercation broke out. The couple, who were on a two-wheeler, reportedly did not give way to his bike because the red light was on, leading to an argument, they added.
