T'gana sets up special agency for those wishing to go abroad
The Telangana government has set up a special entity for the benefit of those who wish to go abroad for work.
The Telangana Overseas Manpower Company Limited (TOMCOM) has been established to see that Telangana residents who go abroad for work do not face problems like cheating by agents, state Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy said here today at the launch of web portal of TOMCOM.
The organisation has been initiated in the wake of citizens, especially those going to countries in the Gulf, facing problems like fleecing by agents, he added.
The state government has also got in touch with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and officials for the benefit of those travelling abroad for work, the Minister said.
Stating that the state government would help them, he appealed to the people to go overseas only through TOMCOM.
He told the aspirants to send their details to the portal www.tomcom.telangana.gov.in.
Meanwhile, Reddy said the state government is taking tough measures in the alleged gang-rape of a 22-year-old woman in Karimnagar district.
