Chicago University to confer Doctorate degree to Naidu

Chicago State University (CSU) to confer a Doctorate of Honour degree to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in recognition of his "efforts to bring socio-economic development in the state". Naidu would be the first foreign political dignitary to receive this singular honour from the US-based university, an official release said here today. "The decision to award you the degree is a testimony to the highest regard that the University holds for you and for your extraordinary abilities to envision, plan, and bring fruition transformative changes for the good of the great people of AP," CSU President Wayne Watson said in a letter to the Chief Minister. CSU is honouring Naidu for being a pioneer of reforms and bringing socio-economic development in AP by empowering farmers and unemployed women, the release said. Earlier, a delegation from the University met the Chief Minister to present the letter in this regard. It also requested Naidu to deliver a special address emulating his vision of development and hold interaction with students, business, political and community leaders of the State, the release said.
