Wimbledon: Sania Mirza-Martina Hingis enter quarter-finals of Women's doubles

In Wimbledon Tennis championship, pair of Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis have entered the quarter-finals of Women's doubles. They defeated American-Latvian pair of Christina McHale and Jelena Ostapenko in a one-sided affair 6-1, 6-0. However, in Men's Doubles, 6th seeded Indo-Romanian pair of Rohan Bopanna and Florin Mergea went in a five-setter marathon match down to 10th seeded Henri Kontinen from Finland and Australian John Peers in the third round. They lost 6-2, 3-6, 4-6, 7-6, 6-8. Roger Federer today defeated Steve Johnson 6-2, 6-3, 7-5 to book his ticket to the quarter-finals of the Wimbledon Championships. He will play Croatia's Marin Cillic on Wednesday. Fifth seed Kei Nishikori of Japan retired hurt during his fourth round match against ninth seed Croatian Marin Cilic. The score at that time was 1-6, 1-5. In Women's Singles, Russia's Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova today advanced to the quarter-finals for the first time in her career after producing an awesome display of power tennis to defeat American Coco Vandeweghe 6-3, 6-3. Earlier, Angelique Kerber ended Misaki Doi’s dream run with 6-3, 6-1 win. She become the first quarter-finalist with the clinical win. In other matches of Women's Singles, Dominika Cibulkova downed Agnieszka Radwanska 6-3, 5-7, 9-7 to enter the quart-finals. Simona Halep also advanced to last 1 after dumping Madison Keys 6-7, 6-4, 6-3. Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan too made it to the last 16 defeating Lucie Safarova of Czech Republic 6-2, 6-4. In Men's singles, Sam Querrey defeated Nicolas Mahut 6-4, 7-6, 6-4 to book a berth in the quarter-final.
