Heated exchange between Akbar Owaisi, KTR in T assembly

Telangana Legislative Assembly witnessed a heated exchange of words today between Telangana Infotech and Panchayat Raj Minister K T Rama Rao and AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi during a debate on farmers' issues. Rao, who is the son of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, objected after Owaisi alleged that some Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) members were laughing while discussing a subject like farmers' suicides. "To say that the government is not serious, to say that some legislators are laughing and to say that somebody is monitoring us...We are senior legislators here, we are in a responsible position in the government. We are far more serious," the minister said. He said that Owaisi should not play to the gallery and express his point in a straight forward manner. Taking objection to his comments, Owaisi said that the minister cannot tell him to speak "straight". "What does the honourable minister mean by seedha seedha boliye? main teda bol raha hoon? seedhe ka matlab kya hai? (Speak straight to the point. Am I speaking improperly? What is the meaning of speak straight?) Hon'ble Speaker sir, you are on the chair. You are the custodian of this House. Minister cannot speak like this," he said.
