Now Lawyers beat up protesters in Allahabad court

In Allahabad, advocates today beat about a dozen political and social activist including women in the district collectrate. The incident occurred when several left party workers and social activist from various organizations were sitting on dharna to lodge their protest against alleged sedition charges against JNU students and demanding action against those responsible on Rhoit Vemula suicide case. An eyewitness told AIR that about fifty activists were sitting on dharna when a group of lawyers of the district court thrashed and chased the protesters resulting in injuries to around ten persons including women. According to police, medical examinations are being conducted of all injured persons and further necessary action will be taken after registering FIR.
