BCCI announces Indian squad for Asia Cup, World T20

BCCI today announced the Indian squad for the upcoming Asia Cup T20 and ICC World Twenty20. The senior selection committee meeting was held in New Delhi today under chief selector Sandeep Patil and BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur. Mohammed Shami and rookie Pawan Negi have been named in the Indian team for World T20. Hardik Pandya, Jaspreet Bumrah and Seniors like Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh and Ashish Nehra also find a place in the World T20 squad. The Asia Cup is slated to be held from February 24 to March 6. India will take on hosts Bangladesh in the tournament opener at Mirpur followed by matches against Pakistan (February 27), Sri Lanka (March 1) and qualifiers (March 3). In the World Twenty20 championship, commencing from March 8, India have been seeded in the Super 10 and will play New Zealand in their opening game on March 15 at Nagpur's VCA Stadium in Jamtha. As part of the preparations for the upcoming T20 events, the Indian team will next play a three-game T20 series at home against Sri Lanka from February 9.
