TRS, MIM bury opponents in GHMC polls

Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) swept the GHMC polls by winning 99 seats. The final tally is TRS 99 seats, MIM is in second place with 44 seats, the TDP-BJP combine with five seat and the Congress with two seats. Speaking to media after the results were out, Chief Minister and TRS supremo K. Chandrasekhar Rao said it was historical victory. Never in the history a municipality got such a sweeping victory, KCR said adding that this was possible only because people liked his party and the government, but not because they engineered the campaign. "This brought us great responsibility and we will prove what we can do for the people of Hyderabad," he said. “I appeal all the party leaders not to allow this victory to get into their heads, he said adding that when people of Hyderabad get their house construction permissions without paying a single rupee in bribe, that is our true victory. All corporators, mayor, deputy mayor and officials should work to achieve that kind of situation in GHMC administration,” he said. KCR thanked people, leaders, MLAs, MPs, Ministers and the GHMC TRS president Hanmantha Rao for their contribution to the party's victory. He said every promise made by the party during the campaign will be kept. One lakh double bedroom houses will be constructed for Hyderabadis, King Koti government hospital will be upgraded to 1000 beds and two more 1000-bed hospitals will be built on the city outskirts.
