Two die, 11 hurt as under construction slab collapses

Two workers were killed and 11 injured after a slab of an under construction building on the premises of Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC) here collapsed, police said. The incident occurred at around 3.30 PM when the workers were putting ready-mix concrete as part of laying the slab and it suddenly collapsed, Kushaiguda police station's Inspector N Venkata Ramana said. The deceased were identified as A Narasimha (38), native of Mahabubnagar district of Telangana, and Indla Shadrak (38), native of Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. The injured were taken to a hospital. Other workers on the spot alleged that building contractor's negligence was the reason behind the mishap, the police officer said. Police have registered a case of negligence against the management of the construction firm and further probe is underway.
