HC asks Telangana, Andhra Pradesh govts to prevent heat wave deaths
The common High Court of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh has asked the state Governments to take all possible measures to prevent heat wave deaths in the two states.
Disposing of a set of Public Interest Litigations, a divisional bench of the High Court comprising of Chief Justice of Justice Dileep B. Bosale and Justice P Naveenrao asked the Governments of the Telugu States to consider providing compensation to the kin of the heat wave victims.
Meanwhile, despite people getting a bit relief due to thunder showers at several places across Telangana , the mercury levels crossed 40 degrees Celsius at many places in almost all districts in the state during the past 24 hours. Nizamabad city recorded 43.9 degrees Celsius while five persons died due to sunstroke on a single day yesterday in Mahabubnagar district.
Met officials warned of very likely heat wave conditions prevailing over Telangana state today.
