Heatwave continues in Telangana despite spell of rain
In Telangana, day time temperatures remained alarmingly high in several parts of the state yesterday with mercury crossing 40 degrees Celsius and above despite thunder showers and hailstorm at many places. According to met officials, the maximum temperatures recorded 3-5 degree Celsius above normal at all districts with Karimnagar recording the highest of 45 degrees Celsius while Medak and Adilabad districts above 43 degrees. The rest of the districts recorded maximum temperatures at above 42 degrees. Some parts of Hyderabad and surrounding districts however had a brief respite from the scorching heat as they witnessed drizzles in the afternoon. Rain and Gale winds were also reported in Medak and Karimnagar districts. The Met officials informed that though it rained in a few parts, temperature was observed at above 42 degrees in Hyderabad and parts of Medak and Mehaboobnagar districts. They cautioned that the Heat wave warning still prevailed for next 24 hours. The Met department issued heat wave warning for all ten districts of Telangana state for today.
