We can cut off heads of those who don’t say Bharat Mata ki Jai' says Ramdev

Yoga guru Baba Ramdev is the latest to join the fray of saffron leaders who have made controversial remarks related to the ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ controversy. In what appears to be a highly communal remark, Ramdev said that thousands of people would be slaughtered in the nation for refusing to chant ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’, if the ‘rule of law’ would not had prevented him. “If somebody says that “even if you cut off my head, I won’t say ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, I want to say there is a rule of law and we respect constitution otherwise we can cut off hundreds and thousands of heads,” Ramdev said. His remarks were not only directed towards All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Asaduddin Owaisi, but also other conservative Muslims who ascribe to the fatwa of Darul-Uloom-Deoband which prevents them from considering India as a ‘mother deity’. The comments of Ramdev came hours after Maharashtra Chief Minister ignited a fresh row surrounding the Bharat Mata ki Jai controversy. Fadnavis remarked that those who cannot raise this slogan, have no right to live in this nation and they should be deported. “There is still a dispute over saying ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and those opposing to say it, should not have any right to stay in India,” he was quoted as saying. However, later Fadnavis clarified saying that he is against those who are seditious and not the ones who want to chant ‘Jai Hind’, ‘Jai Bharat’ instead of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’.
