Heat wave conditions likely to continue in AP, Telangana till monsoon

In Telangana and Andhra Pradesh the day time temperature will go up after three four days and heat wave conditions are most likely to continue till the onset of monsoon. Director in Meteorology Department in Hyderabad, Y.K. Reddy told AIR correspondent that the maximum Temperatures will remain 4-5 degrees above normal and heat wave conditions are most likely to prevail all along during the month of May. He said, due to thunder showers at some places in Telangana during the past two days and moving of upper air trough towards westerly side, the temperatures have come down by 1-2 degrees at many places in Telangana. He further said, the mercury will again rise after three to four days and the maximum temperatures may even touch 47 degrees at some places. Asking people to play cautious and less expose to sun, he said the heat wave conditions will continue till the onset of monsoon some time during June. Attributing the reason for continuous heat wave conditions to El Nino factor he said heatwave reported for ten days between 14th and 26th of this month at several parts of Telangana while it was 6 days in Rayalaseema of Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, the death toll due to sun stroke in Telangana has gone up to 137 with 15 deaths reported yesterday alone. Worst drought affected Medak district reported 34 deaths while Mahabubnagar reported 64.
